Good suggestion, that's done, thanks!

I have lately read some comments from the NAS panel that some of the climate scientists there agree that it is not possible to make very good statistics on the temperature data from 2000 years ago and further... What about that?

I'm sure it will always be a challenge and never as well resolved and accurate as temperature readings today.

There is little relevance from 'temperature' of the last 200 years as regards to 'climate', the irregular periodicity of the climate oscillations is of orders in thousands, and millions, of years.

I am not aware of any million year oscillations. It is true that there are some orbital cycles that operate on thousands, tens of thousands and hundred thousand year cycles but this has no bearing on short term perturbations such as a large volcanic eruption, a large release of methane clathrates or a large injection of anthropogenic CO2.
Your statement that 200 years of temperature is irrelevant to climate is false by definition. Climate is defined as an average of weather over a period of time, usually 30 years sometimes shorter. If you prefer a time period of millenia for your definition that is fine for you but you are alone in that and words only have meaning by consensus. So you must use terms as others will understand them or come up with your own terms or don't communicate with anyone.

This one is usually delivered with a snark or two about SUV's not being around then. Just remember: Don't Take the Bait! Your opposition is only trying to drag you down to a level they can deal with.

Feel lucky us, "Skeptics" don't go after the data (to counter and debunk) which deals with long term temperature guestimates.
You should be happy we even acccept that data at face value, with warts and all.

It’s rather funny that you Alarmist simply can’t stick to fact, yes it was consider bull warmer in the north but the global temperature was a few degrees C higher on average for long periods during The Holocene.

Anonymouse,
the global temperature was a few degrees C higher on average for long periods during The Holocene
Can you please provide a scientific source for your claim?

So we can blame the sun for the Holocene period, but even though solar radiation has increased right along with the temperature in the 20th century, we are assuming that the warming is due to the minute increase of atmospheric CO2 from humans?
This is moronic. The real issue here is the assumption that an increase in CO2 CAUSES an increase in temperature, which has remained unproven. On the same level, you could match the amount of clothing people wear and graph that against the temperature, see a correlation, and then conclude that the less clothing people wear on average, the warmer the temperature is. Correlation does not equal causation.
Somewhere in the area of 90% of the earth's atmospheric CO2 comes from the oceans. Doesn't it make sense that wamer temperatures would cause the oecans to burp out more CO2?

Better rethink that one. According to the report cited in New Sci:
"Direct satellite measurements of solar activity show it has been declining since the mid-1980s and cannot account for recent rises in global temperatures, according to new research....."
