"Nation in a Deep Freeze: What Global Warming?"

Words of wisdom from Faux News. Never mind the basic illogic, due to an El Nino and continued greenhouse gas forcing of the global climate, 2007 is likely to be the warmest year yet on record.

This is entirely consistent with past Cavuto shows, like when he suggested climate scientists had a northeast bias. If only they lived in Denver, they'd see the light. Cavuto regularly provides a platform of legitimacy to the deniers of AGW. Note how Fox News qualifies their talking points with question marks in order to claim they aren't outright lying.

But what can one expect from FoxNews -- being more entertainment than fact.

Oh yes, I expect no better from them! Outfoxed was a very interesting film, or so "some people say" ;)

I don't know about anybody else, but I'd be just as happy to wait and see whether 2007 actually turns out to be "the warmest year on record" before using claims that it might a a rhetorical flourish.

At a minimum, you should make it clear that "likely" in this context is being defined as "around a 60% chance". That is: better than 50-50, but less than 2:1.

I have no problem with waiting and seeing, it was merely added as a contrast to thinking global warming had stopped. Whatever happens, it is just one more year and whatever that single year is, it will not alter the obvious fact that the world is warming.
